Self Learning Center

The Self-Learning Center (SLC) is a student-focused learning environment that serves the students of the College, providing access to reserve readings, self-paced learning materials, computers and group-work space.   In addition to housing course reserve materials and a permanent collection of printed and multimedia materials, the SLC makes available planimeters, stereoscopes, handheld magnifying lenses, and protractors for check-out.   Plant specimens, wood sample kits, and aerial photos are available for study while in the SLC.

Faculty who wish to place materials on reserve should complete the Course Reserves Form and bring everything to the SLC during the first week of the term.

Effective February 1, 2014, the SLC reinstated its official fine policy.  Please read more about the policy here.

The online database section of the Self-Learning Center includes:

Lists of course reserve readings available in the Self-Learning Center. Search this list to find readings that instructors have made available for use by students enrolled in various classes.

We have compiled a list of open access forestry and natural resources related journals for student use.

The permanent collection database contains information about printed and multimedia materials that are available in the Self-Learning Center.

A catalog of videos, CD-ROMs, DVDs, slide-tapes and other materials is also available.
