We offer a wide variety of events and activities that allow students to engage, enhance, network, explore, connect, learn, and gain new skills.  Events range from employer talks to professional development workshops to social activities and fun with your fellow students and much more!  With events scheduled all year long, there is always something exciting happening!  This is what's happening now!



Fall Term 2018

 

Trees & Tie Dye

September 18th, 1:00pm - 2:30pm

Richardson Hall - Hatfield Courtyard

Join us for treats and refreshments and make your own CoF tie dye t-shirt! Then walk with us to New Student Walk & Convocation at 2:45pm. Gather with your fellow classmates and participate in your official academic welcome to OSU. 

 

Annual Ring

September 19th, 10:30am - 2:30pm

College of Forestry Club Cabin

Welcome new CoF students! Food, games, logging sports demo, hiking, fun at the Club Cabin! The bus will leave promptly at 10:30am from Benton Place on the east side of Snell Hall! 

 

Undergraduate Research Clinic

October 1, 2018, 4:00 - 5:00 pm

Strand 262

There are numerous undergraduate student research opportunities on campus and this clinic will provide you an overview of the various programs you can apply to, the benefits, and some skills for reaching out to professors and making your application stand out. This workshop is offered in collaboration with the URSA program coordinator. Open to undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and CoF Faculty.

 

Fall Industry Tour/Forestry Field Trip

Bureau of Land Management - Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area

October 19, 2018, 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

We will be taking a trip to Newport to visit the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. We will tour the historic Yaquina Head Lighthouse and walk the grounds with BLM Park Ranger. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about the park and about BLM careers. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy after the tour. RSVP here by October 11, 2018. 

 

Handshake 101

Handshake is your career development tool for making appointments with a Career Development Center counselor, registering for campus career events, and connecting with employers. Britt Hoskins will be talking about your Handshake profile and what you can do to get noticed by employers. 

 

 

OSU Student Chapter SAF Job Fair 

November 14th, 10:00am - 2:00pm

CH2M Hill Alumni Center Ballroom

The annual SAF Job Fair is a student organized and run event which hosts a vast array of private and public employers looking to fill seasonal, part-time, full-time and internship positions from all sectors of forestry, forest products, natural resources and outdoor recreation. Start getting your resume ready and register on Handshake!
